Requires a Bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of 5 years experience working with large-scale, comprehensive and complex relational databases, database management, and quality control. Proficiency in Oracle, PL/SQL is required. Candidates must possess outstanding oral, written, formal, and informal communication skills, have with strong problem solving skills, and have the ability to integrate, organize, document, maintain, and assure quality of complex data and data system. |

Description |
The Senior Database Specialist, MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) , is responsible for the usability, organization, documentation, and quality assurance of all MCAT data resources, existing and new, for use by various units of the AAMC, as well as by constituents and other stakeholders. As such, the individual will work with AAMC’s Information Technology (IT) team and other internal staff within and outside of the MCAT section, to develop, coordinate, and implement plans associated with the processing and storage of MCAT-related data, including testing and providing quality assurance associated with these data and the tools/applications with which they are processed. Likewise, the individual will develop and demonstrate an understanding of the interconnections among the various databases in which MCAT-related data reside at the AAMC, and the manner by which these data flow across the various databases. The individual will also prepare and document data files for the various MCAT functional units and perform other data related tasks including operational analyses of MCAT item response data. |
